6 IV Breeding
#11
no it actually gives you slightly worse odds let me explain:

destiny knot means you will pass 5 stats down so 5 of hp, att, def, spe att, spec def and speed

Which parent it passes down from is random as is what 5 stats it selects.

so if both parent lack speed you have a 1 in 6 chance of not passing down the speed stat and a 1 in 32 chance of getting 31 ivs in speed on the child
however if one parent lacks speed and the other attack you have at worst a 1 in 4 of getting a set of 5 iv's passed down and a 1 in 32 for the remaining unchosen stat.
with 1 6iv parent you have a 1 in 2 chance of passing down 5 max iv's and a 1 in 32 chance at the final stat.
with 2 6iv parents you have a 1 in 32 chance for a 6iv child since 5 ivs are always passed down.

But as others have said you very rarely need a 6iv pokemon the only one i have ever bred for was cammelrupt (5 maxed and 0 in speed).
