A shiny theory

A few days ago I was on youtube, looking at some Pokemon videos. I saw a video on doing the "Time machine" method for getting perfect IV's, and it was pretty cool. But.. What if the Pokemon was shiny? Could you, potentially, get several shiny Pokemon? This was just an idea I had, and I have no clue if this could work or not. Just an idea I thought I'd share.
