Can you play Pokémon black and white on 3ds

Hi i have a question. Can you play Pokémon black and white on a 3ds if you have played IT on a ds before.
I just want to make sure i dont need to start over or the game file resets

Yep, you can play any normal DS game on the 3DS without having to reset your save or anything. You just can't go to the home menu without closing the game first.
