If you wanna be up with the times then I'd say go for the Alolan dex(I've just finished moon so that's what I'm doing), but if you wanna do it so you can say that you've done it then go for it! And you can even transfer some of the rarer Pokemon to Sun/Moon when/if pokebank comes out

Only ones I may struggle with is the Regi's but I guess one day I'll have to make the trek to get them
