Another random question

I know this has no context but: What is the reason behind Mantyke's low catch rate? I encountered one, I threw 20 Ultra Balls at it, and then it killed itself with a recoil move at 1 HP. I caught its evolution Mantine with just a Net Ball at full HP. Why is it so hard to catch.

Ultra Ball is a x2 on Catch Rate.
Mantyke has a 25 Catch Rate. Net Ball is a x3 on Catch Rate in Gen 6, 3.5 in Gen 7. Mantine has the same Catch Rate as Mantyke. Best idea is to put Mantyke to sleep before attempting the catch next time, as statuses affect it too. |
