[DISCUSSION] Team Showcase Thread!
#1
The title is pretty self-explanatory; this thread is all about sharing teams you had success with from any formats! You can also post teams with which you need help here, but I recommend you make a more in depth Rate My Team so we can help you more easily. Enjoy everyone!

so basically i wanted to use mega aerodactyl, something that is very rarely seen in ou for a few reasons, because i don't think i ever actually used one except in oras uu, and it does have a decent moveset and its a good check to mega charizard y and volcarona, two very threatening mons, but i mostly wanted to use it for the fun factor of it. i added magnezone since aerodactyl really appreciates its ability to trap steel types and check most variants of greninja since its holding an assault vest. next i wanted a ground immunity that didn't get beaten by the common edgequake coverage and that could set up stealth rock, so defensive landorus-t was an obvious pick. i decided to go with earth power over earthquake so i could go special and do more damage to opposing landorus/garchomp/zygarde with hp ice. then, here's another fun pick; i normally would never, ever use tsareena since tangrowth completely outclasses it, but i did need hazard control to keep my aerodactyl safe from stealth rock, and tsareena has access to rapid spin, so while this isn't a very common pick, i felt it could probably still do what i needed for the team; it does check greninja and keldeo, and it has access to u-turn and trop kick, which tangrowth can't get (tangrowth is still better though because bulk + better movepool). i finished the team by adding shed shell tapu lele since it breaks stall and can escape dugtrio's arena trap due to shed shell, and keldeo since it gave me some good speed control and a way to revenge kill a boosted volcarona due to stone edge. so thats about it for this team, definitely not anything top tier but i still had a blast using more uncommon pokemon in aerodactyl and tsareena. hope you guys enjoy this team Smile

Just my2cents about Hawlucha+Koko: Hawlucha lacks sheer power and need mates able to lure its common checks (LandoT, MMane, ecc) like Rocky LandoT and offensive MScizor do. You should use this core in more offensively oriented teams, and not add to them 4 defensive pokèmon. This said, you can use Rockium LandoT instead of a defensive one, LO Koko instead of the Zap Plate+Taunt set and SDance MScizor. Rotom-W doesn't seem so necessary.

The Slurpuff has saved me so many times but the real mvp here is Quilladin. My tankiest Pokemon and undoubtedly my best pivot. He's so much better at surviving than Chesnaught, and that's why I love it. Gyarados can easily come in to sweep with the Z-Celebrate, Feraligatr is trial & error for now

@wartty It's definitely hit or miss. Scald's proven useful every now or then, and Ice Beam can handle Landorus. But it definitely needs more testing
