[S/M] Shiny hunting

Hello, just have a quick question.

So I was sos chaining for a shint pikachu, and having my Kadabra (with modest synchronize) in battle, and I finally caught a shiny Pichu, but it was Docile T^T

I know shinies are all luck, but what holds the faster results? SOS battles, or the Masuda method? (Shiny charm included)

Obviously the Masuda method will guarantee the right nature, but I'm just curious overall.
