Ally Chaining Help

Hey all! 

Does anyone happen to know if switching Pokemon to use a turn between ally calls breaks the chain? I've been chaining for a while now, and I've gotten no luck. I've tried to find other sources, but to no avail. I'm I just unlucky or what?

There is no chain, it doesnt matter what you do it could take you about 3 tries or more than 600 you just have to hope the pokemon calls a shiny ally.

Ah, damn. So it's a flat rate then? That kinda sucks :/
