This is my first week on any dating site. I have made contact with a number of guys who have similars values in life to me. Already got 2 dates and feel very safe meeting fo4 coffee in a garden center! I would prefer to be given profiles of men who live much closer to home. If not, you may waste a lot of time on someone promising, but of whom their photos are at least 10 or 15 years earlier. A major caution, very difficult to cancel your subscription, in the fine print only possible within 48 hours of renewal (which you may not even be aware of). Joined Match around 4 weeks ago - I think you have to put some effort in - do a reasonable profile, get some decent photos, write a decent BIO and put some humour into the questions. I'm 66, and looking from 50 to 68 - so a decent spread over the age range, happy to travel as well. I find lots of women look at my profile - and when I send a decent 1st emails - I would guess I get around a 1 in 7 response from women - some are OK, so when you take out the Average responses it comes down to around 1 in 9 responses, i.e. so for 90 speculative emails you get 10 decent responses. I met my previous 2 partners on Match ( 4 years together, and 11 years together ) Date of experience : 03 February 2025. 95% fake or inactive profiles. 95% fake or inactive profiles. As a bloke I'm sick of the number of women on match who don't reply, and my profile is good and my messages are tailored, not creepy and open. I showed several women and they agreed my approach is good but a rate of response around 3 out of 50 is clearly fake. They still charge. They also don't respond appropriately to emails. The emails are just automated to say how to cancel my subscription. When will the dummies at match realise I am intelligent and knowledgeable how to cancel a subscription. But to continue to charge? That's illegal is it not? Date of experience : 25 December 2024. Up to date profile pictures needed with a time stamp on them! I recently signed up for and paid the £40 for 1 months subscription. I left today. Unlike a lot of these reviews, i have found no problem with the site itself, no problem signing up or cancelling my subscription. I can only guess a lot of people are using the app, which i have heard is not good. HOWEVER. what i found quite alarming that some of the profile pics are blatantly out of date. My own experience of this was MY ONE AND ONLY DATE in the month, whose pictures were a good 5 - 10 years old. Imagine my horror when i met her, very unfair as my pics are up to date. I was very fair and put my age range from 55 - 65 years old, and yes there are some very beautiful women of that age group there. It does beg the question, WHY? I did stay away from them as i believe they were after millionaires,lol. My only complaint with the whole of dating sites, is that each user should HAVE TO put an uptodate picture on it THAT SHOWS THE DATE. That is only fair, especially for us mugs that play by the rules. OH! match hasn't even bothered to ask me why i left or my experience on the site. They were happy to take there extortionate fee, but after that. I took out a 1 month subscription.. Im glad it was only one month . I sent messages but didnt receive a single reply.. I wouldnt recommend this company to anybody.. The site mainly consists of scammers and fraudsters from all over the globe. They all say they are located close to you, and they all seem to fall for you in an instant. Just by sheer luck, I came across AFFdate.com and I met my GF there. Even after that Match would not allow me to cancel my membership. They keep renewing it every month even though I made sure I unchecked this option. To add further fire to the flames when I try to cancel I'm being redirected to the page that isn't there. There is no customer support to contact. They don't reply to emails. Don't be suckered into this scam, guys! Date of experience : 23 January 2025. Dating online isn’t easy. Dating online isn’t easy, so many people ghost for no reason and it can be a stressful experience. Match is no better or worse than other sites so i stuck with it, met some fabulous ladies and learned a lot about me as a person. I hope to never return to a dating site as through match we think we’ve found each other. Stick with it and be respectful, we need to crush this conveyorbelt system and treat each other with better morals than we have. Date of experience : 06 June 2024. Ive tried other dating sites Match best so far. Ive tried other dating sites , one thing i like about match is that they are ruthless with bogus people . Also you can report people as a user yourself, which i have done. Match don't mess about and they have emailed me saying thanks for the report , they have decided to ban the person. Well having experienced the site for a little longer, they need to be ruthless - times have changed it seems and the amount of people who have liked me and then got banned is unbelievable . There are the usual suspects of course on match , you know the type they are looking for someone but can't be bothered to take action on it. Im now chatting to ladies whatsApp from Match. Well even with those one lady didn't liek it even though i hadn't met her, that I was still looking on Match . Match at least didn't crucify me for quoting my number in texts to ladies .
