@Calyx When people do Giveaways, they make you deposit a random pokemon via GTS. When you deposit the pokemon, the pokegiver will then search for your pokemon in the GTS.
Thus, recieving the pokemon!
That is why they ask for the pokemons level, gender,GTS message, and etc. This makes it easier for them to find you.
You can also deposit your own pokemon, choose the pokemon you want in return, lvl, gender, and etc.
