If you're breeding for a shiny one, best odds are to breed two 6 IV pokemon so the child will always have 5 IVs. When breeding with a destiny knot, 5 IVs from either parent get passed down to the child. The 6th IV is randomized 0-31. There's 1/32 chance you'll get the IV you want.
