I am rather new to online pokemon as I never had a chance to even connect to any internet until I was around 12. So I have no idea how to get an Arceus. I have heard from some people that you must goto a GameStop and ask for a code and from others that I need only connect to GameStop wifi. Also how do I know if my GameStop is participating in the Arceus Event? I live in a rural region, and am not completely confident as most gaming events seem to screw people who don't live in cities.

The Arceus Distribution that has been running since the start of the month is set to end on Wednesday. This distribution offers a special Level 100 Arceus to all players of Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Unlike the last two Mythical distributions, this one is distributed via code obtained in stores. The codes can be redeemed until November 30th 2016. They are found in the following places

Canada - EBGames - August 1st through August 24th
United Kingdom - GAME - August 1st through August 24th
Australia & New Zealand - EBGames - August 1st through August 24th

Ok, but are the codes avaible at all GameStops? The promo on Pokemon20 says "The Mythical Pokémon Arceus will be available at participating GameStop stores starting August 1, 2016." This makes it sound like the codes are only at certain GameStop Locations

You have to go to a GameStop or corresponding store and ask for one.

The codes should be at most Gamestops, the only way to check is to go there yourself.
