I know, it probably sounds weird and Focus Blast or Substitute would work better but for as far I experienced I really like to have Cotton Guard on her. And also I love to surprise my opponents but I guess you guys already know about that with my addiction to using NU pokemons Some information about why I picked these moves - Thunderbolt STAB Electric move and does ton of damage on the other pokemon if they're not resisted to it. There's really no reason why you shouldn't put on this move of this majestic beast. - Dragon Pulse Coverage for other dragons, also STAB once she's mega-evolved. + again, I can't think of a better move to put on her. - Cotton Guard As I said before feel free to change this to Focus Blast or Substitute but I picked for Cotton Guard to get that little extra bulk to all the bulk Ampharos already has. If you can set it up + trick room support from the other pokemon = gg - Protect Ayyy it's the standard protect I put on almost all my pokemon / Summary Mega Ampharos is a greaaat TR Sweeper but it's hard to use her if you can't set it up so make sure to give her the TR support she needs, It would be great if this support could also use wide/quick guard to support Ampharos completly from fake outs/earthquakes/taunts As you just read: Using mega Ampharos is a risky thing, it either works or you fail .. a lot. Make sure to practice a lot before adding it randomly in your team / If you can: Use Cotton Guard on the first turn -> Let your TR support use Trick room and if you can't(Like by a earthquake/obvious attack): Protect with Ampharos and set up trick room with the other pokemon. (You could also use quick guard/wide guard to give her a little more chance to set it up) And here's some replays to see it in action. <Will upload this later since i'm on school now.>
