Helping the Mentee - Slec - Aug 10, 2015 Hey guys today I have made a team for my mentee and I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions in order to make it better. The team has a core of Mawile, Rotom, and Chandelure with some support from Togetic and Meowstic. I put Bisharp here to counter the Ghost weakness. The Start: Mawile Rotom-W Meowstic My mentee wanted a to make a team around Mega Mawile, Rotom Wash and Meowstic. When this team was finished I had Gastrodon but he REALLY wanted Rotom Wash . Mawile Rotom-W Meowstic Togekiss I then realized how I needed something that was bulky and had speed control so Togekiss was the best option In my opinion. Mawile Rotom-W Meowstic Togekiss Chandelure I then realized my weakness to fire and Ghost so Chandelure was another good option Mawile Rotom-W Meowstic Togekiss Chandelure Bisharp My weakness to Ghost was still there so Bisharp was the best pokemon to send in. The Core Mawile Rotom W Chandelure Bisharp The core to this team is made up of the heavy hitters of the team. Mawile being the mega is always scary, the natural bulk of Rotom W is always good, Chandelure has massive special Attack and decent bulk to its name, and Bisharp to counter a possible intimidate to Mawile. Support Meowstic Togekiss Togekiss helps support this team with speed control and Meowstic has the option of Safeguard/Swagger, and of course everything with Swagger wins in VGC. The Team Mawile @ Mawilite Ability: Intimidate Level: 50 EVs: 252 HP / 108 Atk / 52 Def / 60 SpD / 36 Spe Adamant Nature - Iron Head - Sucker Punch - Play Rough - Protect Mawile build from Black117 otherwise known as Kiev679 on twitch. Not only was it far more popular in VGC14 but it also was only good for support. I learned that the hard way . However, Meowstic was one of my favorites to use especially paired with Mega Mawile. Safeguard/Swagger combo was so much fun for me and helped me succeed. Not only can this Meowstic be used for that but also for Thunder wave and Speed control. I dont know how good it will be on the top of the ladder but im sure itll work. Togekiss is the key player on this team. With speed control and misdirection this helps out a lot. Follow me + rocky Helmet is a great combination for dealing some free damage. It does 25% to Mega Kang plus possible double edge recoil. Since it's focus sashed its only goal it to dish out damage before dying and the 252/252/4 spread helps it achieve that. Bisharp is great because it can counter an intimidate user being sent out to counter Mawile. It also has great knock off support and helps the weakness to ghost types. RE: Helping the Mentee - Delta - Aug 10, 2015 Well, this looks like a solid team overall. I would run Flash Fire on Chandelure because, well, the last thing a Charizard wants to see is a Chandelure coming in and soaking up an overheat aimed for Mawile. I for one love Chandelure, and think it is a great pokemon to have. Honestly, with teams that look this solid, the only thing you can do is play it over, and over, and over and over...... and over and over again. I would watch your mentee or, protege, as is the appropriate term, play the game several times, and guide him through what the best play possible is.
