Every single one of you guys / gals replies helped me in a different way than the first. Just to recap, it seems like Dark Void actually is unfair; however, it's not unstoppable. The real problem with smeargle isn't Dark Void as much as guess which item he has to stop said Dark Void.
I want to use kangaskhan and clefairy as my most common lead-in, so I think I actually have a good edge against Smeargle. I just need to make sure my clefairy can use taunt (which I didn't have before).
