savefile problems in FireRed

Hello everybody! I am a huge fan of the old Kanto remake FireRed and loved to play it both as a kid and now.

However, my savefile keeps getting deleted! It had already happened a few years ago, and happened recently as well! It is not the batteries fault, as I had them changed just before this happened. If anybody knows why this happens and/or how to prevent this, let me know!

1. Water might have got in it.
2. Dirty
3.2 many cheats
4. Game is old
5. U turned off when u were saving
6.Game corrupted
7 U did not save when u started a new game

1. I generally didn't keep it in moist conditions.
2. I don't think it is, as I gave it to an repair shop to get the batterries changed.
3. I never cheated on GBA games.
4. Well, it is an third gen game...
5. No, I took care that this didn't happen.
6. How can a game get corrupted? It seems possible.
7. No, I saved before multiple times and it didnt't delete itself.

ever considered being not a legit gba pak...
in my country...almost all gba paks are fake...u can play the game but gets deleted most of the time...

and if i remember correctly....4th gen pal park deletes save file of fake game paks...

are ya sure it is a legit game pak?

i still have my emerald from 10 years ago and is still working....
