I mean people have their own tastes and such, but I find a lot of fandoms are full of people that are absolutely nasty if you don't agree with them or that just generally force themselves and their opinions onto you. It's part of why I hesitated joining the pokemon community for so long.
That and what I saw the pokemon community on tumblr just.... it was like everyone forgot that Pokemon were the focus of the game and there was so much porn. Eugh. It just seems kinda sleezy to me, to take a game aimed at a younger demographic and do nothing but draw porn of the characters.
Edit: Heck, I'm pretty sure a lot of the "pokemon fans" on tumblr never actually played the game.
I guess all fandoms have their weird, creepy sections though. The community on this forum is incredible.
