well, depends what you CAN afford. if you have the money, yes go for it, it's worth it, even more if you never played the GBA Ruby/Saphir. It's possible to find cheap OR/AS nowadays.
But if it's tough for you, you could just wait for Sun/Moon In the end, only you can make the decision
