More gimmicks like Pokemon turning into two mons when they evolve. We've only seen that once.
A pokemon that only evolves in the presence of another pokemon would be great, too- specifically, I want a clownish Pokemon that only feels safe enough to evolve when on a team with Mareanie/Toxapex. They're fascinating animals.
