Landorus Facts
Landorus was introduced in the Generation 5 games, Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. It is a dual Ground and Flying type with the Ability Sand Force and the special Dream World Ability Sheer Force. It is the third in a trio of roaming Legendary Pokemon, Thundurus and Tornadus. The form on the left is it's Incarnate Forme, and the one the left is it's Therian Forme. It, along with Thundurus and Tornadus, is the only non-boxart, non-event exclusive Legendary that is able to change forms. Landorus Therian Forme was introduced in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, along with the Dream Radar. In it's Therian Forme it gets the Ability Intimidate.

Legality
Landorus can be caught in the following games;
  • Pokemon Black and Pokemon White at the Abundant Shrine
  • Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 via the Dream Radar
  • Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire in a Mirage Spot
  • Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon by traversing an Ultra Wormhole
Landorus can be Shiny, but must meet the following criteria;
  • A Shiny Landorus can NOT have it's Hidden Ability
  • A Shiny Landorus can NOT be in a Dream Ball or Cherish Ball
  • A Shiny Landorus must originate from Pokemon Black and Pokemon White or Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (we are currently unsure if Landorus is Shiny Locked in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon)
Landorus Event Info;
  • A Japanese event Landorus was distributed for the Pokemon World Championships of 2016 as an Entry Gift for the PWC16 Qualifiers, and is in a Cherish Ball. It is Shiny Locked.
  • OT and Name are Japanese, TID is 14818 and it comes with any Nature. It's moves are Earthquake, Knock Off, U-Turn and Rock Tomb. It's Ability is Sand Force.
Competitive Usage
Landorus Incarnate Forme scored itself a spot in Ubers in BW thanks to it's amazing 125 Attack and 101 Speed, which allowed it to take on BW's common threats with Choice Scarf. With access to Sand Force, it was often placed on Sand teams. It also had access to Swords Dance to skyrocket it's Attack to ridiculous numbers. It's typing granting it an immunity to Electric and Ground types.

Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish / Grass Knot
Come Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Landorus Incarnate is still in Ubers, as now, people picked up on Sheer Force. With Sheer Force it was able to deal huge damage with no worry about Life Orb recoil. Because of this, special Landorus was common in Doubles Ubers. Oh, did I forget to mention he gets Sludge Bomb? Guess Fairy types aren't much of a problem.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon rolls around and guess who's still in Ubers? It's ya boi, Lando. With Toxapex being a common wall in SM's competitive scene, a Ground type had to return. Landorus quickly found use in abusing a Sheer Force Life Orb Earth Power to wear Toxapex down. However, it gets outclassed now by better wallbreakers.

EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Earth Power
- Rock Slide

Landorus Therian on the other hand went to OU to terrorize many players. BW's common set was a double boosting move set utilizing Swords Dance and Rock Polish. Which is disgusting because of it's now base 145 Attack.

Adamant Nature

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y was what I call the Landgaskhan era. Not a single OU Team didn't have Landorus and / or Kangaskhan. With Intimidate, Landorus was an annoying Pokemon to face. However, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire reintroduced Move Tutors. And with it, Landorus got the one thing most players hate. Stealth Rock. It was able to set them up easily, and running a Bulky Landorus was common. Another common set was a Scarf Explosion set. Yes.

Go to Ubers

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon still shows no team is spared from Landorus. One of it's best sets in the Sun and Moon meta is Supersonic Skystrike (Fly). Now paired with Gravity or Smack Down to remove the Ground immunity from Zapdos and Celesteela.
