Porygon2 Curse Set [Singles]

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def / x SpA / x SpD / x Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Curse (From Generation 2 Transfer)
- Return
- Recover
- Tri Attack
Generation 2 Porygon2 gets an attack it never kept in later Generations, this being Curse. What Curse does is boosts Attack and Defense by 1 stage and lowers Speed by 1 stage. Relaxed Nature gives a boost to it's Defense and lowers it's Speed, which is what we want on this set. EV Spread is pretty straightforward, just Maxing out P2's HP gives it a solid 374 HP to work with and it's 252 in Defense is to ensure it's taking Physical hits as good as it can. A quick damage calc shows it can survive a 252 Atk Adamant Banded Machamp's Dynamic Punch in 2 hits, and an Adamant 252 Atk Mega Gallade's Close Combat, also in 2 hits before Curse's boosts apply. If gen 2 is the same as Gen 1, then the Pokemon should transfer with their Hidden Ability, and P2's HA is perfect for this set, as it's boosts damage done if the Pokemon moves last.

Potential Teammates

Wish Pass Vaporeon/Sylveon. - Both Vaporeon and Sylveon are incredibly tanky, and both get access to Wish and Heal Bell, as well as Baton Pass. Heal Bell is perfect in case P2 gets burned, and Wish is a very decent health recovery option. Vaporeon over Sylveon is reccomended because of it's ability to take Steel type hits easily. However, Sylveon can also tank the fighting type threats that scare P2, like Haryiama.

Psychic Surge Lele. - The only reason I would carry this is for Psychic Surge to prevent Fake Out on P2, however it can optimally run Light Screen and Reflect as a support option. Safeguard is reccomended as an extra method of safety to prevent burn and confusion.

Threats

Knock Off users can get rid of the Eviolite that holds this set together. Common threats in Knock Off usage include Hariyama and Conkeldurr.

Toxapex and Haze will shut down this Pokemon right away, and atempting to damage it is useless as it will be able to recover easily and a +6 Atk Return still only offers a 5HKO.

In that same setting, Skarmory, and Giratina can either Whirlwind or Dragon Tail and expect little damage against themselves.

Other Notable Moves

Shadow Ball - Good coverage against common Ghost Types like Gengar

Ice Beam - Coverage against Dragonite and Salamence {MEGA}

Thunderbolt - Coverage against Gyarados, Aerodactyl and various Flying types

This Pokemon is best suited to take physical hits, Eviolite and Relaxed Nature helping out with all of the setup needed to run Curse. Return will be doing best damage after 6 Curse boosts, and you'll be able to survive a lot of physical hits afterwards. Final notes: This is my first time doing a Build Submission, if I did something wrong please let me know. I've been researching this ever since Gold and Silver's announcement for the Virtual Console and I'm really excited for it. The only thing I'm waiting on is confirmation of G/S Pokemon having Hidden Abilities. If it's confirmed HAs aren't returning with G/S Pokemon, I'll delete this submission ASAP.
