Need information for shiny hunt

Greetings ladies and gentleman, I am currently on the hunt for a shiny Rayquaza.

I've been soft resetting on Pokemon Emerald for a while now and it got me wondering, is it even possible in that version?

Is there a better method?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Shiny locks didn't even come about until Gen V, so it's certainly possible. Soft resetting is about the only option you've got if you want to catch it yourself by legitimate means. Just keep at it, and good luck!
