[ORAS] Shiny Breeding (Masuda Method)

Hello everyone! I have a simple, perhaps dumb question.

Do you need a Shiny Charm for breeding for a shiny using the Masuda method?
Does it increase the chance of recieving a shiny if you have it while breeding or is just for wild encounters?

You need two Pokemon in the day care from different regions for the Masada method

The shiny charm helps the odds buy is not necessary
