[RATE MY TEAM] VGC Trick room team
#1
Hey everyone, I've recently been breeding a lot and have got into competitive VGC battling. Been trying out a trick room team and really just needed a few pointers on where I could improve. Thanks a bunch, this community is amazing Smile

Cresselia @ Mental herb
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EV's: 236 HP / 204 Def / 68 SpD
Relaxed nature
IVs: 0 Spe / 0 Atk
-Trick room
-Psyshock
-Ice beam
-Helping hand

The set-up: Metal herb provides relief from that pesky prankster taunt. Not sure whether to go psyshock or psychic, and whether to replace ice beam. EV spread to give it all around bulk.

Defensive calcs:

252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Sucker Punch vs. 236 HP / 204+ Def Cresselia: 168-201 (38.1 - 45.6%)
252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Heat Wave vs. 236 HP / 68 SpD Cresselia in Sun: 205-243 (46.5 - 55.2%)
252 SpA Mega Salamence Draco Meteor vs. 236 HP / 68 SpD Cresselia: 153-180 (34.7 - 40.9%)
252 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 236 HP / 68 SpD Cresselia: 172-204 (39 - 46.3%)

Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Huge Power
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Play Rough
- Iron Head / Fire Fang
- Sucker Punch / Rock Slide
- Protect

The mega: pretty standard mega-wile set. Brave to max Atk and min Spe. Intimidate pre-mega. TBH, not even sure I want to keep mawile as the mega. A lot of the time I find it isn't exactly handy, with the amount of mons that run an ground or fire move.
EV spread to maximize bulk and attack.

Offensive calcs:

252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Iron Head vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Gardevoir: 702-828 (252.5 - 297.8%)
252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 277-327 (78.9 - 93.1%)
252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Salamence: 440-522 (132.9 - 157.7%)
252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Metagross: 294-346 (97.6 - 114.9%)

Amoongus @ Rocky helmet
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe / 0 Atk
- Rage Powder
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Protect

Spore and rage powder redirection. A good physical wall and rocky helmet deters mega kangs.
EV spread to provide physical bulk.

Defensive calcs:

244+ SpA Charizard Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 76 SpD Amoonguss: 330-390 (76.3 - 90.2%)
252 Atk Metagross Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Amoonguss: 242-288 (56 - 66.6%)
252 Atk Aerilate Mega Salamence Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Amoonguss: 422-500 (97.6 - 115.7%)

Gastrodon @ Expert Belt
Ability: Storm Drain
Level: 50
EVs: 180 HP / 108 Def / 216 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe / 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Scald
- Ice beam
- Protect

Good pairing with T-Tar, storm drain eliminates one of its weaknesses. Not sure whether a competitive milotic is better. Thundurus (without hp grass) complete counter, Landorus and mega meta counter. Most water users, e.g suicune and milotic who usually only run scald and icy wind / snarl as offensive are rendered useless.
EV spread to provide suitable defensive bulk but focusing on strong offensive pressure.

Offensive:

216+ SpA Gastrodon Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Salamence: 360-428 (108.7 - 129.3%)
216+ SpA Gastrodon Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mega Metagross: 228-270 (75.7 - 89.7%)
216+ SpA Gastrodon Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-T: 400-472 (125.3 - 147.9%)
216+ SpA Gastrodon Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Thundurus: 200-236 (66.8 - 78.9%)

Tyranitar @ Assault vest
Ability: Sand Stream
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Ice punch
- Rock slide
- Earthquake
- Low Kick

Sand stream can disrupt both sun and rain teams on switch in, and with the sandstorm boost and assault vest, huge SpD.
EV spread to maximize attack, plenty of physical and special bulk due to stats and assault vest.

offensive:

252+ Atk Tyranitar Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Salamence: 292-348 (88.2 - 105.1%)
252+ Atk Tyranitar Low Kick (100 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 244-288 (69.5 - 82%)
252+ Atk Tyranitar Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Thundurus: 276-326 (92.3 - 109%)
-1 252+ Atk Tyranitar Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 24 Def Landorus-T: 264-312 (82.7 - 97.8%)
252+ Atk Tyranitar Rock Slide vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Talonflame: 544-648 (171.6 - 204.4%)
252+ Atk Tyranitar Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 24 Def Mega Gardevoir: 142-168 (51.2 - 60.6%)
252+ Atk Tyranitar Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 256-302 (153.2 - 180.8%)

Defensive:

232 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Mega Tyranitar in Sand: 128-152 (31.6 - 37.6%)
252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Metagross Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Tyranitar: 134-158 (33.1 - 39.1%)
252+ SpA Aegislash-Blade Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Mega Tyranitar in Sand: 122-146 (30.1 - 36.1%)
120 SpA Milotic Scald vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Mega Tyranitar in Sand: 66-80 (16.3 - 19.8%)

Rotom-H @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 212 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe / 0 Atk
- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Will-o-wisp
- Protect

Breloom and amoongus complete counter, W-o-W good for all situations and gastrodon's Storm drain gives water protection whilst maintaining thunderbolt coverage.
EV spread to provide special offence, bulk to prevent 2HKO from landorus-T scarf and 2HKO from mega kang with burn after one turn.

offensive:

212 SpA Rotom-H Overheat vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Mawile: 368-434 (121 - 142.7%)
212 SpA Rotom-H Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Milotic: 204-240 (51.9 - 61%)
212 SpA Rotom-H Overheat vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Mega Metagross: 326-386 (108.3 - 128.2%)
212 SpA Rotom-H Overheat vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Aegislash-Shield: 192-228 (59.2 - 70.3%)
212 SpA Rotom-H Overheat vs. 252 HP / 96 SpD Amoonguss: 380-450 (87.9 - 104.1%)

defensive:

252 Atk Landorus-T Rock Slide vs. 252 HP / 44+ Def Rotom-H: 110-130 (36.1 - 42.7%)
252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Return vs. 252 HP / 44+ Def Rotom-H: 202-238 (66.4 - 78.2%)

Would love some pointers on any mistakes I've made. I'm not too good at EV spreads yet, run a few mons through the main threats on showdown calculator, so any help here would be nice. May want to replace mawile but want to keep an intimidate user.
