[TEAM REPORT] Wombo Combo comes to an end
#1
For a while now I have been rocking a pretty powerful team. This team has gotten me great success whether it be in the Dodrio Cup, Justin's tournaments, or just casually battling. Its peaked me at a Battle Spot rating of 1784 and has never failed. Alas, all good things must come to an end. Since the new VGC season is here the meta will change since Worlds and this team is becoming predictable. My biggest weakness with this team is probably trick room. Without further adieu lets get this report started.

Politoed @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
Level: 50
EVs: 212 HP / 132 Def / 48 SpA / 116 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Helping Hand
- Rain Dance

Politoed is my best friend Kappa but for real though Rain has shown me great success no matter what VGC meta game im playing. Scald is a very good move. Some people like to use hydro pump instead because of power, but scald hits with base 80 plus rain and STAB boosts and a chance of burn. Ice Beam helps against Lando T, Mega Mence, Thundorus, etc. and considering Ice is currently the best type in the current meta Ice beam is a must have on any water type. Helping hand is pretty much there for any last ditch effort to get some boosted damage. Rain Dance is the shocker though. It helps against 1v1 situations with Charizard Y, it shuts down any other weather moves and its great with mind games and momentum.

EVs: 156 HP / 52 Def / 156 SpA / 4 SpD / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fake Out

Now its time for the second half of the Wombo Combo. Ludicolo puts in the finest of work, not only does it take special hits like a champ but it also has fake out support as well as Giga drain to regain health. Scald and Ice beam for reasons everyone should know.

Salamence @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 100 HP / 52 Atk / 4 Def / 132 SpA / 132 SpD / 88 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Double-Edge
- Draco Meteor
- Hyper Voice
- Protect

IT'S TIME! When building this team I realized I needed an answer for the one Mega that gave me the most trouble ever since my first VGC battle. Mega Venusuar. This thing wont die KappaHD, but with Mega Mence it does! Mega Mence is also a great answer to Amoongus, Blaziken, Breloom, and any other pokemon that require sash or bulk to live. Mixed Mence is best Mence and ive said this a lot. It hits anything incredibly hard with double edge. Draco is for those pesky Dragon type pokemon that seem to appear more often than we though, and Hyper Voice is awesome for spreading the damage out. This counters Rage Powder Amoongus and breaks Breloom's sash.

Offensive calcs

52 Atk Aerilate Mega Salamence Double-Edge vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 127-150 (70.1 - 82.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

52 Atk Aerilate Mega Salamence Double-Edge vs. 180 HP / 76 Def Mega Venusaur: 200-236 (112.3 - 132.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

52 Atk Aerilate Mega Salamence Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Amoonguss: 228-270 (103.1 - 122.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

132 SpA Mega Salamence Draco Meteor vs. 60 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 206-246 (117.7 - 140.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Defensive calcs

252+ Atk Landorus-T Rock Slide vs. 100 HP / 4- Def Mega Salamence: 68-80 (37.1 - 43.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Rotom-H Hidden Power Ice vs. 100 HP / 132 SpD Mega Salamence: 161-192 (87.9 - 104.9%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 100 HP / 4- Def Mega Salamence: 135-160 (73.7 - 87.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Aegislash @ Life Orb
Ability: Stance Change
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 196 SpA / 60 SpD
Calm Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Wide Guard
- King's Shield

Now on to a personal favorite of mine. Aegislash is an amazing pokemon, im just gonna say it. Wide Guard support is amazing to counter Sylveon's hyper voice as well as Lando T Rock Slide and Earthquake. King's shield is pretty much a staple on any Aegislash. Some Opt to use Sacred Sword over Flash Cannon but I like to have something that'll hit Fairies hard. Shadow Ball is just a powerful STAB move and with Life Orb makes it all the better.

Offensive calcs

196 SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 220 HP / 92+ SpD Cresselia: 133-156 (59.6 - 69.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

196 SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Flash Cannon vs. 92 HP / 0 SpD Sylveon: 151-182 (82.9 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

196 SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Flash Cannon vs. 196 HP / 0 SpD Mega Tyranitar in Sand: 109-133 (54.5 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

196 SpA Life Orb Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball/Flash Cannon vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-T: 114-136 (69 - 82.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Defensive calcs

252+ Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 108-128 (64.6 - 76.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Mega Salamence Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 60+ SpD Aegislash-Shield: 80-96 (47.9 - 57.4%) -- 90.2% chance to 2HKO

252+ SpA Aegislash-Shield Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 60+ SpD Aegislash-Shield: 54-66 (32.3 - 39.5%) -- 96.3% chance to 3HKO

Zapdos @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Pressure
Level: 50
EVs: 224 HP / 136 Def / 36 SpD / 112 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Tailwind
- Roost
- Heat Wave

Zapdos is a very bulky pokemon. Now some people may wonder why I didnt choose Thundurus. Although I lose priority thunder Wave, Zapdos makes up for it in Defensive bulk and recovery moves. Zapdos also gets access to Heat Wave and Tailwind. Not much else to say considering it got me out of a few pickles thanks to its Bulk and Tailwind support.

252+ Atk Landorus-T Rock Slide vs. 224 HP / 128+ Def Zapdos: 68-82 (35.2 - 42.4%) -- 0.6% chance to 3HKO after Sitrus Berry recovery

252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 224 HP / 128+ Def Zapdos: 137-163 (70.9 - 84.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Sitrus Berry recovery

100 SpA Suicune Ice Beam vs. 224 HP / 36 SpD Zapdos: 74-88 (38.3 - 45.5%) -- 52.3% chance to 3HKO after Sitrus Berry recovery

252 Atk Terrakion Rock Slide vs. 224 HP / 128+ Def Zapdos: 84-102 (43.5 - 52.8%) -- 4.7% chance to 2HKO after Sitrus Berry recovery

[Image: terrakion_by_creepyjellyfish-d7a48w9.gif]

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Rock Slide
- Quick Guard
- Protect

Im not even gonna do Calcs or anything to this. Simple 252/252/4 spread. This thing hits like a train, quick guard helps prevent Talonflame and surprisingly Quick Attack Sylveon and beat everything up Kappa

Hope you like the team, this is probably my favorite team ive made so far. Ive had the most success with it and maybe one day once the meta doesnt suspect it anymore itll make a comback

A much different rain team than my own, but a powerful one nonetheless. Ever thought about running Thunder on zapdos? Kappa

Accuracy young Miguel, this team doesn't require the rain to be up. I'd rather have a guaranteed Thunderbolt and trade power for accuracy.

First, I'm 19 going on 20, I'm your elder KappaHD . Secondly it's very useful when you are in rain. 30% paralysis is nifty and with helping hand, you could be dealing a lot of unexpected damage. Just a thought, as I ran it on my thundurus with moderate sucess. It's not an option that I would just throw away.
