Wow how bad was Pelipper from gens 1 through 6. Like I forgot it was a pokemon until it kept popping up LITERALLY EVERYWHERE during Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Gotta love Hoenn amirite. Ya know what else hoenn loves besides Water? Trumpets! Ya know what Pelipper is based on? A Pelicane! What does that have to do with anything, I dunno but you're still reading so I must be doing something right. I've wasted enough of your time, lets get on to the builds.

Tailwind Support

Pelipper @ Focus Sash
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Tailwind
- Hurricane
- Protect

This really is self explanatory, Pelipper has mediocre everything really aside from its ability. Drizzle makes it so that rain is automatically set for 5 turns, and if any of you were around for Black and White, you know how good weather is. What this set does is guarantee getting up Rain and a tailwind depending on whether or not your opponent outspeeds and doubles up. What makes rain so good is not only it powering up scald's power but also giving hurricane 100% accuracy.

Waterium Z

Pelipper @ Waterium Z
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 132 HP / 252 SpA / 124 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Hurricane
- Tailwind
- Protect

This set originally used in Aaron "Cybertron" Zheng's Pelipper analysis video back before the meta was really set. Obviously Waterium Z Hydro Pump is going to hit everything hard especially in rain. Hurricane gets 100% accuracy as it always does in rain. The only problem I have with this set is that Tailwind is not guaranteed, personally a pokemon such as Golduck or Araquanid can do this job much better, but I digress.

252+ SpA Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. 132 HP / 0 SpD Pelipper: 118-141 (77.6 - 92.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So as you can see Pelipper went from being a useless pokemon to a very good set up mon. With switft swim partners such as Golduck and monsters like Araquanid, this can be a very very good pokemon. Thanks for reading and good luck battling Smile
