I learned this the hard way. I bought Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald on amazon, each for around 35 dollars, and after 5 years, I just noticed that they are fake. If you want to get legit GBA games, go to DK Oldies (https://www.dkoldies.com/). They have pictures so you can see that they are 100% legitimate. Luckily, I was able to return the games (losing around $40) and get a new, legit one that was cheaper because of the sale they're having (around 25% off).
