[NEWS] Pokemon Direct News Thread
#1
Information
2 Hours ago, a Pokemon themed Nintendo Direct aired and revealed some VERY interesting and exciting news. Let's go over what we know so far.

POKKEN TOURNAMENT DX
So Pokken Tournament was confirmed to be getting a port on the Nintendo Switch. The port clearly has better graphics than it's Wii U counterpart. The Switch version of Pokken Tournament will feature the original cast of fighters, along with the 4 DLC Pokemon announced for the Arcade version; Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon and Croagunk along with a brand new fighter! Decidueye! The release date of Pokken Tournament DX is September 22nd 2017

POKEMON ULTRA SUN AND POKEMON ULTRA MOON
Thebiggest thing that got revealed were the now confirmed sequels of Pokemon Sun and Moon, "Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon". These games appear to take place a fair while after the events of Sun and Moon, the player's house looks revamped, and the main protagonists look different in these sequels. It appears that Togedamaru, Mimikyu and Lycanroc-Midday may have an exclusive Z-Move. Solgaleo and Lunala appear to now be able to fuse with Necrozma and take on what we're currentl calling "Ultra Forms". The Z-Rings seems to have a new function as well. The games will release on the Nintendo 3DS family systems on November 17, 2017.

[Update (7.6.17/4:33 am EST: Nintendo has confirmed Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon will not be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
“We would like to address rumours based on a clerical error on the Pokémon press site; Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are coming exclusively to Nintendo 3DS family of systems and are not due for release on Nintendo Switch. This listing on the Pokémon press site was made in error and is not indicative of future plans. “ ]

POKEMON GOLD AND SILVER ON THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE
Classic Pokemon games from Generation II, Pokemon Gold Version and Pokemon Silver Version, have been confirmed to be getting a Nintendo eShop Virtual Console release. The games will follow Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow's trend of being compatible with the Pokemon Bank, and it seems the Time Capsule feature will be used to communicate with Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow just like back in 2000. These game will release on the Nintendo eShop on September 22, 2017. No news on a Pokemon Crystal release as of yet.

It'll be interesting to see how the story differs from the sun and moon, since its now really a time jump like black 2 white 2, its like a alternate timeline
