He's slowly realizing that he's the only human in the series who isn't completely stupid.

I mean, Yukko finds out about Shimada; Kindly asks him to leave. 10/10 judgement skills.
Shinichi clearly tells Kana NOT to follow her instincts. Does it anyway and look what happens. 10/10 listening skills.
I'd go crazy too if i had to deal with that.
