Not necessarily, ok, so I'm gonna use group B as an example.
It's like this:
Group B:
John vs. Ash
Yellow vs. Green
Blue vs. Red
Mario vs. Luigi
Say Ash, Yellow, Red, and Mario wins. Then it goes like this:
Ash vs. Yellow
Red vs. Mario
Say Ash and Red wins. Then it goes:
Ash vs. Red
Say Red wins. Then the winners of Group A and B fight each other to see who is the Champion. (Say the winner of Group A is Baklava an Group B is Red)
So, the battle goes:
Baklava vs. Red
Say Red wins. Red is the champion and UNSTOPABLE!!!

Ok! We have enough people to do it (I guess), as soon as everyone is on, we can battle!
Remember:
-30 minutes to train
-1 legendary is allowed
-NOT allowed to use any pokemon in your PC (You can choose a level 55 or below legendary though)
-2 shinies only (Your starter and then another)
I believe that's all! Y'all will get a PM with everyone is on and can battle
