Kanto Classic Snorlax - MegaShuckle - Feb 25, 2016

I know Snorlax is one of the best Pokemon in this format but I cant decide on what moveset/spread to use.

Im actually using this one:

Snorlax
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 52 Def / 196 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Return
- Rest
- Heavy Slam
- Crunch

It OHKO Alakazam with Return, but doest OHKO Gengar with Crunch. So, Im not sure if running an Adamant Nature is better, but then Snorlax loses some bulk.
Suggestions?

RE: Kanto Classic Snorlax - Flapster - Feb 25, 2016

I too also am using a Snorlax for the Kanto Classics: Here is mine. PS, I got my Snorlax judged by the IV Judge in the Battle Resort, it said that mine is above average.

Here's my Snorlax I'm using:

Snorlax

Nature Jolly

Greatest Stats: Attack

At level 50, Snorlax has nearly 300 hp, which is impressive

Level:66 (Although I know all tournaments are restricted above lv50 are made level 50.

My moveset:

-Shadow Ball

-Crunch

-Blizzard

-Giga Impact

Ability:Immunity

As for my suggestion, if you're gonna use a Snorlax with Rest, I suggest making it have the move Sleep Talk. If your Snorlax's asleep and you use Sleep Talk, it will randomly use a move it knows. However, if it uses Rest, it will fail, even if it lost HP.

Hope I helped! Smile

RE: Kanto Classic Snorlax - Marcusube - Feb 25, 2016

Snorlax
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Body Slam
- Curse/Crunch

This is what I've seen function the best on the Kanto Classic ladder. Curselax is just extremely hard to beat after it sets up to at least +2 as it can freely Body Slam everything for an easy 2HKO-3HKO

RE: Kanto Classic Snorlax - Excalibur0126 - Feb 25, 2016

@Flapster It is recommended you breed for a Pokemon with good IVs/Nature/Ability/Moves as that's how most people battling competitively have their Pokemon set up. You want to find a good spread to use on your Pokemon instead of using any ole Pokemon you find.

You could say, I'm average at breeding. :P Most of my pokemon for the tournament are bred, except for Snorlax. :P
