Type: Null is a pretty dope Pokemon! Compared to it's evolution, Silvally, they both have the same base stats, with the difference being that Silvally having much more speed. Because Null is a pre-evolution along with it's solid defenses of 95 HP/ 95 Def/ 95 Sp. Def, you can slap Eviolite onto this thing and eat up about anything. And thanks to it's plain normal typing, the only super effective type it has to worry about it Fighting. You also don't have to worry about crits either, all thanks to Battle Armor. Let's finally see the power of Physically/Specially Defensive Type: Null @ Eviolite
Ability: Battle Armor EVs: 236 HP / 252 Def / 20 SpD OR 236 HP/ 20 Def / 252 SpD Bold Nature OR Calm IVs: 0 Atk - Tri Attack - Air Slash - Rest - Sleep Talk Milestones (Physically):
Milestones (Specially):
These sets takes advantage of Null's great defenses along with Eviolite to easily take certain hits dependent on the set you run. Since Null can't get any other recover move, it'll have to rely RestTalk in order to get back HP. Tri Attack is Null's best form of STAB, with a 20% chance to burn, freeze or paralyze the opponent (6.67% each). Null doesn't rely on these status conditions, but are nice if RNG favors you. Although Tri Attack and it's other moves won't really knock out the opposing team quickly, the bulk and ability to rest with Null will balance it all out. It's other attacking move, Air Slash, is meant to hit to deal with ghost and fighting types if you get it in a pretty bad spot. Going back to RestTalk, this is Null's best way of getting HP while also having the chance to deal with the opponent. The gimmick behind this is to use Rest right before you get in range of getting knocked out, putting you back at full HP and getting rid of your status condition. Then, because Rest puts you to sleep for two turns, you use Sleep Talk for two turns. Then you get two options from waking up, either to attack or go right back to sleep with Rest and repeat. This helps Null live much longer, but be weary of any set-up mons wandering around, as they can take the oppurtunity to just sweep your whole team if they hit Null hard enough. In terms of what to watch out for other than Sweepers, be wary of Rock and Steel types, as they can easily outwall Null due to resisting it's attacks. It should also be known to watch out for opposing ghost types, as they can take an Air Slash no problem and do some good damage, like Gengar. Lastly, it should be obvious that hard hitting fighting type moves can 2HKO Null, making RestTalk unviable. This will force you to switch out into something that can easily take a fighting type hit if you want to preserve your wall. Do you have the calcs for Tapu Lele/Koko? Otherwise, great set! RE: Type: Null Moveset - Tank - Marcusube - Dec 24, 2016 Decent set @GingerxPug but why not run a Cro set with Work Up, Tri Attack, Rest and Sleep Talk. Considering that Type Null is going to be paired with 5 other Pokemon that can take care of Ghost types, it could be considered as an alternative to Air Slash. I can see Type Null pairing well with a Pursuit trapper as well since its Normal typing would attract Ghost types to switch in |
