UB Showcase: Enter Xurkitree - Slec - Dec 27, 2016 _________________________________
Xurkitree Type: Weaknesses (X2) Resistances: , , (X0,5) Abilities: Beast Boost: Increases the user's highest stat (ignoring the HP stat) by one stage after knocking out a Pokémon Base stats: 83 HP / 89 Attack / 71 Defense / 173 Special Attack / 71 Special Defense / 83 Speed Now a lot of you are thinking, hey nerd you aren't that Doomtrain guy, why are you doing this? My answer is... I dunno ask @"Squeab" or @"Elly" _________________________________ the sets 1. Choice Scarf :: Xurkitree @ Choice Scarf Ability: Beast Boost EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe IVs: 0 Atk Timid Nature - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Ice] - Energy Ball/Dazzling Gleam - Discharge (For VGC)/Volt Switch (Singles) Xurkitree is a weird pokemon looking at it on paper. Not only because it looks like a tree made of Christmas lights but also being in an awkward speed tier at a base speed of 83. Scarf helps it outspeed mons such as non Scarfed Garchomp and Landorus while being able to OHKO them with HP Ice. Xurkitree works good in both VGC and Smogon, having an amazing 173 base special attack, which increases after every knock out thanks to the Beast Boost ability. Being able to threaten mons such as Tapu Fini, Celesteela, and Spider God Araquanid, as well as post bank mons such as Keldeo, and Azumarill. 2. Z-Hypnosis :: Xurkitree @ Psychium Z Ability: Beast Boost EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Hypnosis - Tail Glow - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Ice]/Energy Ball/ Dazzling Gleam This set is very fun, but could come with some checks. While Z hypnosis is very good putting the opposing pokemon to sleep and giving a +1 Speed boost and also giving you a free Tail Glow, it is limited to only 2 attacking moves. Thunderbolt is a must considering its Xurkitree's only STAB move so that makes one slot left for other coverage which honestly depends on the rest of your team. Beast Boost will also add to the +3 SpAtk boost and get a little sweep going on, making this set extremely threatening. calcs: Offensive: Defensive: _________________________________ good partners Ground checks: Ground being its only weakness really helps Gengar Alolan Marowak is Xurkitree's worst enemy, a fast ghost type like Gengar really helps out. Tapu Lele: Psychic Terrain helps prevent sucker punch which can cause trouble if you're looking for a Xurkitree sweep Physical Wallbreakers: They remove Special walls, which makes sweeps easier for Xurkitree. Hazard Setter: Honestly after Rocks nothing is living anything +3 from this thing. _________________________________ threats Super Effective Hits: Pretty obvious: super effective=big damage. Priority: Priority really walls Xurkitree including the previously mentioned sucker punch Special Walls: Special walls can sponge Xurkitree's attacks with ease, so be sure to have a good Physical Attacker to take care of them. Marowak: This thing stops literally everything Xurkitree tries to do _________________________________ Hope you guys have fun with this set, I know I'm no Rogue but I'm trying my hardest (dont hurt me) Happy Battling! RE: UB Showcase: Enter Xurkitree - croissant - Dec 27, 2016 Great build! Z-Hypnosis isn't very common, but I think it's super fun to mess with! RE: UB Showcase: Enter Xurkitree - Marcusube - Dec 28, 2016 Decent builds though I really think Xurkitree can do more. Possibly use a Choice Specs set, Tail Glow LO set, a lure set with Magnet to disguise as a choice item, yeah something along the lines. In Smogon, it's also possible to run Hidden Power Ground as a lure for Marowak-A and Magnezone 252+ SpA Xurkitree Hidden Power Ground vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Marowak-Alola: 214-254 (66 - 78.3%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock 252+ SpA Xurkitree Hidden Power Ground vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Magnezone: 392-464 (139.5 - 165.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO Volt Switch also gets some play on the scarf set in VGC as it allows Xurkitree to pivot into something that can take the most likely incoming Ground move Gengar can KO Marowak-A but certainly cannot switch into it plus Marowak always has the option of switching out into something that can check Gengar plus Gengar adds an extra weakness to Ground Speed control as well as checks to VoltTurn are good options for Xurkitree as well as the presence of a Ground type to check opposing Electric types that Xurkitree can't OHKO at +3 Great build though @"MudkipLegend" :D |
