My Recent tournament team - ItalianG62 - Jan 3, 2015

Yeah this was the team I've used in the last tournament (and the last one too except replace Sylveon with Mega Kang)

Garchomp (Shark Knight) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide

Honestly not sure about what different things I can do with this.

Salamence @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Protect
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower

I've tried both a Physical and Special Mega Mence and I am honestly liking Special a lot more but I'm definitely thinking I should add some bulk to this

Sylveon (Harime Nui) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Hyper Voice
- Hyper Beam
- Shadow Ball

I'm honestly not sure if there is anything I could do differently with this so any sort of input would be appreciated.

Greninja (Hanzo) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Grass Knot
- Dark Pulse
- Scald
- Ice Beam

I'm only running Expert Belt on this only because I'm running Life Orb on Talonflame but I can always change that up and put a Choice Band on Talonflame instead of a Life Orb.

Talonflame (Rise Falcon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adament Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Tailwind

I feel like I should use this as more of a Support Talonflame but either way I've been happy with the results I've been getting.

Bisharp (Emi Yusa) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Shadow Claw
- Swords Dance

I'm aware that I don't have Sucker Punch and I will work towards fixing that. I think other than that this is a more standard build for Bisharp.

I apologize for the rather brief description on all of these but I wasn't sure how much I could really talk about these since they are all rather known builds. But I do need help with what I could do to change this up whether it's a change in team members, EVs, IVs or natures. Any bit of help will be greatly appreciated Smile

RE: My Recent tournament team - evilsabre - Jan 3, 2015

nice team italian guess i'll have to post my team since my milotic was so huge last match XD

RE: My Recent tournament team - Muphry - Jan 3, 2015

Bisharp is pretty frail, I'd look into either putting a Focus Sash or Protect on it.

For Sylveon, I like using the Specs set Cybertron posted in his Sylveon analysis. 92 HP / 116 Def / 252 SpA / 48 Spe allows it to survive Jolly Kang's Return and Aegislash's Flash Cannon while getting some speed investment. Also, Harime Nui is perfect for a Sylveon. Big ups. Smile

RE: My Recent tournament team - IceyGamer - Jan 3, 2015

Them 252/252/4 spreads.

RE: My Recent tournament team - Eeveeli - Jan 3, 2015

If you want I can give you some better EV spreads/some build tips after the tourney is over [Image: 1.0]

But yea I agree with Muphry: run Focus sash on your Bisharp for sure.

RE: My Recent tournament team - ItalianG62 - Jan 3, 2015

I went with Lum Berry on Bisharp because I always found it being hit with Status conditions which is what prompted that choice but I'll play around with some options tonight.

Yeah I mainly do the 252/252/4 spreads because I have such a hard time trying for wide EV spreads but I will definitely need to start doing that especially in cases such as my Sylveon since I am really liking Cybertron's spread for it. (I just recently finished KLK and Harime Nui seemed to be the best nickname for it that I really like.)

If you don't mind Eevee, I would greatly appreciate that.

RE: My Recent tournament team - Peppermint - Jan 3, 2015

Dang weaboos with their Nar la Nar and Killuto Kappa

RE: My Recent tournament team - Eeveeli - Jan 3, 2015

Okay, let me write a huge text wall then! :D

Garchomp (Shark Knight) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe 12 HP / 204 Atk / 4 Def / 36 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Iron Head Protect
- Rock Slide

Keep the Rough Skin, Rocky Helmet combo. It works great and does good damage to Mega kang with her fake outs (or any other pokemon with fake out) also the moveset looks pretty solid. I would run protect over Iron head tho since you already have Bisharp in your team to take care of fairies. Also being able to protect in VGC is always nice when you can see obvious attacks coming your way

The EVs work great and good pokemon trainers (Like the winner of world) use the standard chomp but since Garchomp is pretty outclassed by these newcomers in VGC2015 I would suggest another set for him. With these EVs you can survive attacks like a HP Ice from Mega Manectric and a Ice Beam from Politoed and more powerful attacks. + You almost notice nothing from the slight Attackdrop with the EVs

252 SpA Mega Manectric Hidden Power Ice vs. 12 HP / 36 SpD Garchomp: 156-184 (84.3 – 99.4%) — guaranteed 2HKO
108 SpA Politoed Ice Beam vs. 12 HP / 36 SpD Garchomp: 156-184 (84.3 – 99.4%) — guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Parental Bond Kangaskhan-Mega Double-Edge vs. 12 HP / 4 Def Garchomp: 154-184 (83.2 - 99.4%)
252+ Atk Aerilate Salamence-Mega Return (Flying) vs. 12 HP / 4 Def Garchomp: 139-165 (75.1 - 89.1%)

Salamence @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe 60 HP / 84 Def / 180 SpA / 4 SpD / 180 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Protect
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower Go with Heat Wave or Fireblast (Both still OHK M-Mawile)

This Salamence needs some bulk! I think the ice beam proved that lol and here are some EVs for a special Megamence like you mentioned in the description. Physical MegaMence is better (in my option) but these EVs should work find for the mence. Still, watch out for ice attacks. He doesn't like them at all.

252 Atk Parental Bond Kangaskhan-Mega Double-Edge vs. 60 HP / 84 Def Salamence-Mega: 114-135 (64 - 75.8%)
68 SpA Choice Scarf Politoed Ice Beam vs. 60 HP / 4 SpD Salamence-Mega: 148-176 (83.1 - 98.8%)

Sylveon (Harime Nui) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpA  92 HP / 116 Def / 252 SpA / 48 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Hyper Voice
- Hyper Beam
- Shadow Ball

As Muphry said this EVspread works like magic on Sylveon! I would definitely recommend you changing it to this. Also Hyper Beam is noice! but the recharge is just horrible since you can't do anything/switch out and get double attacked and lose her. This is why I recommend running protect on it and a Life orb but then I saw you also have a Talonflame and Greninja so nvm what I said about the item/protect. Choice specs work fine! Kappa

Greninja (Hanzo) @ Expert Belt Life orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe 40 Atk / 216 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Grass Knot / Gunk shot
- Dark Pulse
- Scald
- Ice Beam

Life orb > Expert belt. Greninja is pretty frail so it needs to do as much damage as possible while it's still alive. I would also suggest running Gunk shot on your Greninja to cover that Fairy weakness you have in your team/Support your Megamence or garchomp more in battle.

Talonflame (Rise Falcon) @ Life Orb Choice Band/Sky Plate
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adament Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Roost U-turn
- Tailwind / Quick guard / Will-O-wisp

Since I've put the life orb on Greninja I would suggest putting a Choice Band on your Talonflame for that extra power to surprise people! Also U-turn Talonflame should surprise a lot of people since I don't see many people running it + it does good damage because of the Choice Band.

You could also put a Sky Plate on your Talon Flame to keep the support and let it carry Will-O-Wisp (again for the surprise), quick guard or stick with Tailwind.

Bisharp (Emi Yusa) @ Lum Berry Focus Sash
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Shadow Claw Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance Brick break/Protect

As you said before: Bisharp needs him Sucker punch support! Also you shouldn't put Swords Dance on it since you already have the Defiant boost + Bisharp will not live long enough to make sweeps because it's so frail. You could also run Brick Break over protect to counter the other Bisharps that will be used a lot this meta

Timid Nature
- Grass Knot / Gunk shot
- Dark Pulse

- Shadow Claw Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance Brick break/Protect

As you said before: Bisharp needs him Sucker punch support! You could also run Brick Break over protect to counter the other Bisharps that will be used a lot this meta

Thank you so much Eevee this helps immensely and it's something I'll work at tonight. (thankfully I have a few Reset Bags) and if you wouldn't mind can I see what you would do for a Physical Mega Mence? Since that's a thing I can also do but I would like to know the better way to do it since what I have is in short

Jolly,
4 HP/252 Attack/252 Speed

Double Edge
Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Dragon Dance

I actually just noticed that on Greninja you invested IVs in attack while still keeping it as a Timid nature, is there a reason for that or would a nature like Naive work better for it?

RE: My Recent tournament team - Peppermint - Jan 3, 2015

This is kind of a minor edit but I'd recommend putting Giga Impact in the last slot for your Talonflame. it actually gives you a win condition if your tflame ends up in a 1v1 against low-hp Rotom and hasn't chosen its move yet.
