Rags to Riches??? - beastmoose - Mar 15, 2015 So yeah I've been totally bored lately so I made this team on showdown just completely for fun, and wanted to know what you think. This is just a team I use to mess around with in VGC, and Each Pokemon has its own gimmick about it, so I was wondering if we could try to make this go anywhere without getting super competitive. Hitmontop (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Technician EVs: 124 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Def / 44 SpD Adamant Nature - Fake Out - Protect - Bullet Punch - Mach Punch I absolutely love this little guy. The reason he is special is he is an all-priority pokemon. True, his only true attacking moves are mach punch and bullet punch (mostly because sucker punch is from a different gen.), but his fake out support and the fact his mach punch gets 80 base power plus life orb, I love this man. WEAKNESS: QUICK GUARD PLZ NO Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Intimidate EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Superpower - U-turn I gotta have atleast some competitive power, right? :D Scarf gives him the ability to outspeed greninjas who stay in on him, and the rest of the set I thoroughly enjoy Heatran @ Air Balloon Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature - Heat Wave - Earth Power - Protect - Flash Cannon Same as Lando, gotta have some presence. This guy could use some help, mostly in the item department. Balloon is good, but just one Fake Out away from eating an Earthquake. Dewgong @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Thick Fat EVs: 252 HP / 68 Def / 188 SpD Bold Nature - Stockpile - Ice Beam - Rest - Substitute Stockpile, man. Stockpile. The item slot could use some moving around, but he has just enough Sp.Def. to BARELY take a T-Bolt from a Thundorus. I dont want to run Rest Talk, because it feels like, especially on this set, giving up a move slot for just a 25% chance of using a move. Beheeyem @ Choice Specs Ability: Analytic EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD Modest Nature - Psyshock - Thunderbolt - Energy Ball - Signal Beam A dedicated special sweeper. Can't switch in on much, but he can 2HKO a Def. Cresselia after one Calm Mind with Signal Beam. Do what you must with him. Probopass @ Leftovers Ability: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD Calm Nature - Thunder Wave - Protect - Earth Power - Pain Split Okay, so tbh Probopass is one of my favorite Pokemon ever. Seriously, check this guy out, I love him. But I feel like he isn't needed on the team. He can slow down enemies, but his recovery is lousy and I already ahve 2 other Pokemon running Ground-moves, while he is also sucking mu my Lefties. He can do work, but still. Weaknesses - Too many Ground-Moves - Hardly any Ice moves - ABSOLUTELY NO WATER, DARK, FAIRY, GHOST, OR DRAGON MOVES Strengths Probably the most fun team you'll ever play with :P :D kappa RE: Rags to Riches??? - Maddie - Mar 16, 2015 Finally someone using a Dewgong. This makes me happy. RE: Rags to Riches??? - Marcusube - Mar 16, 2015 Hitmontop @ Lum Berry Ability: Intimidate Level: 50 EVs: 140 HP / 244 Atk / 116 Def / 4 SpD / 4 Spe Adamant Nature - Fake Out - Wide Guard - Close Combat - Feint Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf Ability: Intimidate Level: 50 EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Superpower - U-turn Heatran @ Life Orb Ability: Flash Fire Level: 50 EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature - Flash Cannon - Protect - Earth Power - Heat Wave Dewgong @ Sitrus Berry Ability: Thick Fat Level: 50 EVs: 180 HP / 60 Atk / 148 Def / 12 SpA / 108 SpD Relaxed Nature - Fake Out - Icy Wind - Protect - Aqua Tail Beheeyem @ Focus Sash Ability: Analytic Level: 50 EVs: 188 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpA / 64 SpD Quiet Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Psychic - Shadow Ball - Energy Ball - Recover Probopass @ Leftovers Ability: Magnet Pull Level: 50 EVs: 204 HP / 124 Def / 180 SpD Sassy Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Bulldoze - Thunder Wave - Taunt - Power Gem This team is still a work in progress but I recommend dropping the Probopass. It may look like it has bulk but it gets pushed down to 0% in no time due to its weaknesses and it has no offensive power to fight back. I support the Dewgong idea 100% and I'm actually surprised that it learns Fake Out. :D Azumarill @ Assault Vest Ability: Huge Power Level: 50 EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD Brave Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Waterfall - Play Rough - Aqua Jet - Ice Punch Drop Probopass for Azumarill. You get more coverage in terms of covering your weaknesses plus you have more offensive power than Probopass could ever imagine. RE: Rags to Riches??? - beastmoose - Mar 16, 2015 Thanks for the suggestions! I like the Azumarill, and the Dewgong set too. I'll make these changes to my team, although I might have to keep the Jolly on Lando. This is mostly a personal thing, just because it can outspeed timid Greninjas and still deals a lot of damage at this point. Thanks for the input! :D RE: Rags to Riches??? - Marcusube - Mar 16, 2015 Adamant Lando can still outspeed Timid Greninja when scarfed. RE: Rags to Riches??? - z2porygon - Mar 16, 2015 First of all I don't think it is regional worthy. Sorry, I don't even know what to change since you like the team a lot. I first see the team and think Trick Room. It is either trick room or your team is just bulky and slow. Bulky and Slow teams have problems against fast and offensive pokemon. I would suggest the following to the team: Beheeyem @ Mental Herb Ability: Telepathy EVs: 180 HP / 236 Def / 36 SpA / 56 SpD Quiet Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Trick Room - Psychic - Nasty Plot - Shadow Ball Sets up Trick Room. Nasty Plot makes Beheeyem a monster sweeper. Psychic and Shadow Ball are the main attacks. Survives Double-edge from jolly Mega-Kanga but Bisharp and Hydreigon can OHKO this pokemon. Togekiss @ Safety Goggles Ability: Serene Grace Level: 50 EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 76 SpD Relaxed Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Air Slash - Follow Me - Protect - Dazzling Gleam/Aura Sphere An average spread that helps Beheeyem sweep and set up trick room. Survives Life-Orb Iron Head from Bisharp (<-- this pokemon is super threating to this team ) I dont know how to really help this team. There are too many individual pokemon that just threaten or wall this entire team such as: Bisharp Terrakion Mega-Kangaskhan Rotom-Wash/ Suicune / Bulky water-types Thundurus / Zapdos Anything with EQ spam It is bad to be weak to an individual pokemon because if you see it in team preview you are already down. I use this to build teams as well. Also this is your current team. http://www.teammagma.net/teambuilder/?237|606|476|645|87|485 Btw Probopass is how I got Wide Guard on Aegislash :D Also Angel Miranda used Perish Trap Dewgong in 2013 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYyM5zEv2fo RE: Rags to Riches??? - beastmoose - Mar 16, 2015 Nah, I get it. This team is just the product of me being on showdown for 10 minutes. I just wanted to see how this community could pull together to make this team not an easy 4-0, and all of the input was great :D . Maybe next time I'll actually make a team that's not a joke (probably not though ) |
