[VGC] Mega Tyranitar Moveset - Mixed Attacker (Non-Mega Options) - ChaseInfinity - May 28, 2015 Credit to ishmam Tyranitar is iconic to almost ever sand team with the access the his Sand Stream ability, sand teams are actually getting more and more popular in VGC15. With the Special Defense boost Tyranitar should not be looked lightly upon.
[VGC] Mega Tyranitar Moveset - Mixed Attacker (Non-Mega Options) Type: Rock/Dark Weaknesses: Water (2x), Grass (2x), Fighting (4x), Ground (2x), Bug (2x), Steel (2x), Fairy (2x) Resistances: Normal (.5x), Fire (.5x), Poison (.5x), Flying (.5x), Ghost (.5x) Immunities Psychic (0x) Abilities: Sand Stream: Sandstorm blows when the Pokémon enters battle. As of X & Y, this lasts 5 turns. Unnerve (Hidden Ability): The opponent Pokémon will never use their held Berry while the Pokémon is in battle Base Stats: Non-Mega: 100 Hp / 134 Atk / 110 Def / 95 SpA / 100 SpD / 61 Spe Mega: 100 Hp / 164 Atk / 150 Def / 95 SpA / 120 SpD / 71 Spe Mixed Attacker (Mega) Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 180 HP / 132 Def / 12 SpA / 4 SpD / 180 Spe Timid Nature - Rock Slide - Fire Blast - Dark Pulse - Protect In the current meta Special Tyranitar is becoming more common than physical, so i've decided to show you a mainly Special Varient. Rock Slide although is a physical move has the power to KO pokemon such as Talonflame and Charizard with ease. Fire Blast can be used to deal with Grass type threats such as Ferrothorn, or even deal alot of damage to pokemon such as Bisharp. Dark pulse can deal with threats such as Gengar. And finally Protect for that needed protection. This EV spread will ensure its survival of many attacks (shown in Damage Calcs.). Damage Calculations: Offensive: Mixed Attacker (Non-Mega) Tyranitar @ Life Orb Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA Quiet Nature - Rock Slide / Stone Edge - Dark Pulse - Fire Blast - Protect This is basically the same set but for a Non-Mega Tyranitar, if we want to know more about the set please read the decription above ^. The only thing that is different is a more generic EV spread this time around, and the added move Stone Edge for those bulkier pokemon, although watch out for its accuracy. Damage Calculations: Offensive: Potential Teammates include but aren't limited too:

Very thorough with tons of awareness of the current meta. We definitely needed T-tar with all these sand teams popping up lately. You and Eckley are killing it with these builds! Thanks Naitre, just glad i can support this great community RE: [VGC] Mega Tyranitar Moveset - Mixed Attacker (Non-Mega Options) - ChaseInfinity - May 28, 2015 (May 28, 2015, 05:26 PM)Vietflame Wrote: podfighterninja123 needs to see this xD He was on the replay stream not too long ago trying to figure out a viable mixed build/set for this mon. Even with all the weakness, with the right support Tyranitar can be a huge problem. Also does Tyranitar get ice punch in oras or is it an event only move? T-Tar is definitely a Pokemon that I've wanted to to use more effectively, and it's certainly becoming more and more of a threat in the current meta. Awesome work here, Anime! :D RE: [VGC] Mega Tyranitar Moveset - Mixed Attacker (Non-Mega Options) - ChaseInfinity - May 28, 2015 (May 28, 2015, 05:49 PM)PKPatriot56 Wrote: Great write-up! Also, would 252/252/4 function effectively on an offensive Tyranitar? :s |
