Quick! Someone who is good with writing papers help me out! - theanimal189 - Nov 19, 2014 So I am writing an argumentative paper for my composition class, the topic is violence in video games and I am picking the side that it doesn't bring out violence in youth, or anyone who plays them. I need a good hook though, which I think I may have but I would like opinions. Does anyone feel like they could help? It would be greatly appreciated! RE: Quick! Some good studies that say they cause little to no effect include this Texas A&M Study (http://www.christopherjferguson.com/Not%20Worth%20the%20Fuss.pdf) and this Ohio State study that actually says it causes more benefits than harm(http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22489544) Sorry, could only find the abstract for the second one. RE: Quick! Someone who is good with writing papers help me out! - theanimal189 - Nov 19, 2014 Oh, I've done plenty of research. I know what I want to say lol. I'm just talking about the hook, the first thing at the beginning of the paper that makes everyone want to read it. Mine right now is, “Video games make children violent! Video games make children grow up to be fat, lazy, and stupid!” These stereotypes and arguments have been made for 10, 15 years by parents, family, popular media sources, and even some scientists to have claimed that violent video games bring out the anger and violence in children playing said games" I want something a little better though, which is what i wanted help with lol RE: Quick! I'd pick a story that sounds crazy or farfetched in order to grab attention. RE: Quick! Someone who is good with writing papers help me out! - theanimal189 - Nov 19, 2014 Hmm, i'm gonna have to look around. Thanks for the help! |
