Fish chaining is the easiest method to get shinies in gen 6 imo.
When I'm trying to, I can catch 10 shinies and give them away in wonder trades or something.
But getting a shiny staru would be difficult due to its low encounter rate, I would go with masuda if you have the shiny charm

I thought shiny charm only increases shinies in wild encounters. I didn't think the shiny charm effects the masuda method does it? If it does what does the rate get cut into 1/500?
