My all time favourites are: 

• FF8 (PS1)
  
• Alundra (PS1)
  
• Jade Cocoon (PS1)
  
• Alex Kidd in Shinobi World (Master System)
  
• Portal 2 (PS3)
  
• Megaman (generally any system)
  
• Breath of Fire (except DQ and 5)
  
• Sonic The Hedgehog (Mega Drive)
  

There are many others, but that is the short version.

Also @Absol - lutely! have you played a lesser known Megaman game on PS1 that was only released singularly in EU and Japan called "Megaman Battle and Chase?"
