Hey, everybody! It's 0kamii, and I haven't made a [BATTLE REQUEST] thread in quite some time!

Since I had a ton of fun using my 1st place Emolga team in a battle request thread last year, I thought it'd be more fun to do a theme build and put it to the public to see if any of y'alls wanted to throw down against a very non-standard composition. Now as the title suggests, this team is comprised entirely of mons that are based (or loosely based) on creatures and gods from Aztec mythology. I adopted Nahuatl anthropology in college as an independent study, and rarely does a culture enamor me the way these warriors have. Below is a list of all the deities and icons I've incorporated into my team, and yes, before you ask, there is ONE legendary on my team. So feel free to bring one of your own should you want to battle.

1) Quetzalcoatl - The Feathered-serpent

2) The ahuizotl - the fifth-handed monkey

A classic name for the once Aztec Empire, known today as the descendants of the Toltecs
 
6) Tlaloc - god of Rain

These are the six icons that will be your opponents. I've laced clues as to who their in-game counterparts are in their descriptions, and I hope that you all feel a like challenging my pantheon. Mainly because there are prizes available! The first person to successfully topple my Aztec team will receive a Mega stone of their choice, and the second will have their choice of a BP item from the Battle Tree. Third will receive either a Flame Orb or Toxic Orb.

So, after 1 week I received 8 yes votes and 0 no votes for starting a wonder battle thread so let's get this started! This is a format of battles where anything could be involved, from a freshly hatched magikarp to a Battle Bonded Greninja. Anyone can participate so feel welcome to join in, experience is definitely not required!

Participation is simple, if you want to have a battle, Issue a post challenge on this thread and wait for your rival to arrive, don't forget we have a discord where you can meet to connect and battle as after the challenge is declared you can communicate much quicker there. For an explanation as to 'what is wonder battling?' This explanation should suffice: The wonder battle is a format of battling whereby trainers wondertrade 6 Pokémon and use the recieved Pokémon from these trades as their battle team. Overall wonder battling is simple yet highly unpredictable so you don't need to be a big fan of competitive battling knowing all of the current strategies in order to participate, making this great for players new to competitive battling!  Big Grin  

The Rules:
  1. You must use the first 6 Pokémon you receive (even if you get a magikarp!)
  2. You may not use legendaries or mythical Pokémon obtained in battle (Trade for another Pokémon)
  3. You may not have 2 of the same species of Pokémon, re-trade as necessary
  4. No EV training, changing moves or changing held items
  5. Levels must be set to 50
  6. The battle mode should be set to Singles Battle
  7. You must use a new team for every ranked battle (friendly rematches are fine)
Rankings:

Although this is not meant to be majorly competitive due to the random nature of wonder trades I am proposing to keep a record of win percentages on the thread. To have your matches added to the ranking one user must upload a replay of the battle video and post the code for the battle replay on this thread. For those of you unfamiliar with uploading battle videos, here is a link to a YouTube tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrMLxGJDnzQ.

Once the ranking pick up I will use the post below to show the top trainers for the month as well as long term ranks and hopefully in the near future I will be able to introduce prizes for those who reach the top rank!

Someone who wouldn't mind helping me out to test teams and theorycraft on what's likely to be good strategies and Pokemon.
Would be good if you yourself aren't planning to participate in the tournament, but if we aren't facing off in the first round then that might work still Blush
Showdown is probably the easiest place to practise because of not having to breed mons.
How many times and how often depends on IRL stuff and such, probably wont need much time.

My intention is to battle and have fun show casing an unorthorodox team, not to try and flaunt my prowess in battle just becuase I won a tournament and I suddenly think I'm the bee's knees. Yeah, no. If that's what y'alls think, then clearly you guys don't know me well enough yet. Yes, I won a tournament with this team, but it's far from perfect. Also, and I know this should go without saying, but please try not to analyze my team through the post I made about it. That's not strategy, that's cheating. Tongue

Just so you all know, myself and the rest of Amethyst 0mega are still planning our first giveaway, but we've come across a small hiccup.
