Anime newbie looking for shows/movies

k awesome! Attack on titan sounds like my thing then! 
I like Action (is that called shonen in anime?) sort of things, I like well draw cartoons, and if it makes me laugh that's something xtra
What's people's opinions on Kill la Kill, Evangelion, Hunter x hunter, and Full metal alchemist??
What are FMA Brotherhood, Akira, and Code Geass all about?
I think I'll get around to Studio Gibli stuff eventually, my girlfriend loves those films so I can't escape it :P
