The soak + discharge strategy has been used in VGC a lot of times - in 2014 at least. With the presence of old friends from VGC 2013, primarily Landorus-T, this strategy has been looked down upon.

This isn't a bad idea by any means but it can be countered if the opponent simply gets off 1 EQ so you need to be careful.

As for the rest of your team, your first problem is here

The core of your team is good but you need to work on balancing out your weaknesses. Throw in some ground types or even Mega Sceptile with Lightning Rod.

This is just a suggestion of a team you can build this idea around.

Lanturn @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Volt Absorb
Level: 50
EVs: 140 HP / 112 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Soak
- Volt Switch
- Discharge
- Hydro Pump

Raikou @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Discharge
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball

Sceptile-Mega @ Sceptilite
Ability: Lightning Rod
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Protect
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Protect

Thundurus-Therian @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Discharge
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Dark Pulse

Hariyama @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 50
EVs: 124 HP / 252 Atk / 28 Def / 104 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Fire Punch

Overall good strategy. I give it a 8.5/10  Cool

The team that Marcusube suggested is a lot more balanced. I tried it out on Showdown though, and there are a lot of flaws. First, a Prankster Pokémon like Whimsicott easily dismantles the entire strategy, making Lanturn's Soak useless. From there, I had trouble against Ground-types like Landorus and Mamoswine (especially Mamoswine, who easily takes out all Lanturn, Thundurus, Raikou, and Sceptile).

If your opponent doesn't have a Prankster Taunt user, however, the team works well. I went 1-3 on Showdown.
