What are the odds of encountering a shiny in a horde without the shiny charm? Plz help lol

It's about 1/819, given without the shiny charm.

iirc it's each pokemon in the horde has the same rate as any other typical wild encounter, but since there's five at a time, there is, of course, 5x the chances of finding one shiny. but individually they each have the normal rate

Stick to friend safari if you don't have the shiny charm. Otherwise, use hordes.
