Just like to point out that we have a pretty good discussion going on... and then there's Rogue He is definitely my idol 
Back to the discussion, I started out playing Smogon, and enjoy both VGC and Smogon equally. At the end of the day, it's still Pokemon, regardless of what format you chose to play.
I hope you all go ahead with the stream idea, it was fun when Evilsabre was streaming and everyone was just having a chat via Twitch
