Need help
#1
I Am new at VGC battling, when I started out I used trick room, now more and more people are bringing pokemon with trick room to counter out trick room, so I want to break away from My trick room team, but that has been a problem. I used a lot of common sets but nothing seems to work for me. Any tips and/Or tricks to help me improve VGC battles?

Familiarize yourself with the types of teams used in VGC such as weather teams, Tailwind teams and Gravity teams. From there you can select Pokemon that work well in these conditions such as Ludicolo in the rain, Excadrill in the Sand, Sylveon under Tailwind and Landorus-T under Gravity.

I also recommend reading articles from Pokemon communities such as Nuggetbridge on the Top players from Premier Challenges and how they approach team building.

In terms of using common sets, there isn't anything wrong with doing that but remember that the more common a strategy is, the more counters that will exist so you have to work around that.
