Play Time Question

Does the Play time on Pokémon moon cap at 999:59 for everyone? I remember someone I talked to before say that their play time was higher but mine has been stopped at that for quite a while now.

Including sun pretty sure its the nintendo standard

I have had a couple hit the 999:59 mark before but it confused me that I swear somebody I talked to IRL said theirs was higher but I went with it since I wasn't at 999:59 at that point so I figured it may have changed and didn't think about it much
