[RATE MY TEAM] New team (VGC15)
#1
This is my first team I made and my first time posting. If I did anything wrong, please tell me and I will change it. Please constructive criticism. Thanks!

Lucario-Mega @ Lucarionite
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Bullet Punch
- Crunch

Lucario is a powerful sweeper/wallbreaker. If he can get a swords dance up, he can sweep mostly anything. He is my Mega Kang and Aeigeslash counter.

Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 248 HP / 72 Def / 188 SpD
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Dark Pulse

(ONLY IF SHOWDOWN) Sableye is just a really tanky beast. he uses will-o-wisp to burn physical attackers then just sets up with calm mind.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Brick Break
- Knock Off

Covers against sableye's only weakness, fairy. Just spams bullet punches until it dies. May be up for change.

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Eruption
- Extrasensory
- Overheat
- Rock Slide

Covers for scizors weakness. If they use a fire move, switch to typhlosion to get the boost, and spam eruption with the choice scarf.

Dragonite @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or 252 hp / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch

Since he gets multiscale, any of his first moves are going to be halved, so if he gets hit by a super effective hit, he has a strong chance to survive while weakness policy activates. A combo of dragon claw and extreme speed will most likely kill anything it meets. The second ev spread is a more bulky set that can survive a greninja's ice beam. I'm not sure which one to run so comments would be helpful.

Serperior @ Life Orb or choice specs
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Taunt

A setup sweeper. With the new hidden ability contrary, leaf storm gives a + 2 Spa with a 140 base damage.

Slurpuff @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Aromatherapy
- Drain Punch
- Play Rough

Setup Sweeper. When it uses belly drum, it eats the sitrus berry and speed is doubled because of unburden. In case of burn, it has aromatherapy and drain punch for steel types and healing.

I made these changes for the following reasons.

  • You are trying too hard to take advantage of Typhlosion's Flash Fire. If your opponent out-predicts you and Typhlosion gets fainted, you have a huge Fire weakness on your team
  • Mega Lucario checks all the Fairy types you worry about so Scizor is pointless here (unless you are using Mega-Sableye instead of Lucario)
Weakness Policy Dragonite only works if you get a free switch in without entry hazards up, which is really hard to pull off. Also there are some Pokemon such as Weavile and Mamoswine who completely ignore Dragonite's Multiscale. This is the reason for this EV spread. I changed the item to choice band because Dragonite makes a better revenge killer than a set up sweeper on this team.
  • Wash Rotom is here to cancel out both Dragonite's and Lucario's weaknesses and to also counter them. Also since Rotom is fairly slow you can a slow Volt Switch allowing your other Pokemon to come in after dealing damage hence you'll have an easier time setting up
  • You need a rapid spinner on this team. Any kind of entry hazards (especially Sticky Web) causes great conflict with the other 4 Pokemon on your team. Typhlosion's Eruption will do less plus it will be slow, Dragonite's Multiscale will be broken before even taking an attack and Lucario's speed stat will be low enough for mid ranged bulky Pokemon to take it out. Excadrill does this job very well
  • I changed the Slurpuff EV spread because you need to ensure that you don't pull out the Sitrus Berry before Belly Drum and this EV spread achieves just that. This also allows Slurpuff to survive a choice banded Bullet Punch from a Scizor at full health.
