[VGC] Jedi's Building teams again
#1
Well the rules are now officially out which means the greatest mind in this community is back. What this means for you is I will be bringing my knowledge of the meta game to all of you. I will check this thread Every Friday night and days when I can check in. What this means for you is ask a question in this thread and I will reply to it in time. It can be a build question, a general meta question, or anything else related to VGC itself.Do not ask Smogon questions because I am not a singles player. And please Keep each post to one question so it doesn't look stupid when I quote it.

So start posting your questions here and let me inform you!

I am a visually impaired player, so with my impairment, I can't see well enough to read the print, so my question is how would I go about competing, or would I be able to?

Bisharp
Focus Sash
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance
-

This is my Bisharp and I am not sure which 2 moves to give it in accordance with these. Right now I have shadow claw and assurance but I am not sure if those work well.

Right now knock off is the single best move in the game and on a Bisharp it is deadly.  For the last slot there are a few options, bisharp is very feeble so protect is always nice, sucker punch is very good especially with the defiant boost.  I would remove swords dance because this thing wont survive long enough to use it well and defiant basically gives you +1 every time intimidate is used on you.  I am a fan of Assurance aswell if you are running a fast team because it will go 2nd for that increased damage.  Try something like:

Bisharp
Focus Sash
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- Protect / Assurance

Pick your favourite pokemon and go from there. Some excellent pokemon right now are, M-Kangaskhan, M-Mawile, Cresselia, Landorus-T. Pick pokemon that you like and from there find pokemon that compliment there style of play. After you have 2-3 complementing pokemon to your first pokemon pick others that help cover weaknesses and pokemon that bring utility to your game like an intimidate user or someone who can speed control the opposing team.

This game does have a lot of visual cues to it so you can do it without reading. However you will need to know what every animation looks like and missing one small animation could make or break a match for you. It is very possible to do this however it will be harder for you to do it, more effort is all that is required so you should at least try

Is there any move I can use to replace the Sucker Punch in the Bisharp set up? It is an egg move and I have a battle ready Bisharp so I am stuck.

Just run assurance in its spot instead and it will be solid
