Oh Garchomp. Generation six was not kind to you. It brought fairies into existence, and now we all fear Sylveon's Hyper Voice. Your Mega unfortunately loses 10 points in speed (if only those ten points didn't go to special attack...), however, everything else is boosted to rediculous proportions. Also, lets just look at the design. Regular Garchomp looks cool, even if his shiny is a bit lackluster. Now, with Mega Garchomp, the coolness factor gets turned up to 11. Not to mention its shiny form, WHICH IS PANK!!! SO AMAZING!!!!!!!11!!!!!one!!!!2
Type: Dragon/Ground
Weaknesses: Ice (x4), Fairy (x2), Dragon (x2)
Resistances: Fire (x.5), Rock (x.5), Poison (x.5)
Immunities: Electric
Abilities: Sand Veil -During a sandstorm, the evasion of a Pokémon with this Ability is increased by 25%. A Pokémon with this Ability will take no damage from the sandstorm if it otherwise would.
Rough Skin (Hidden Ability) - When a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a move that makes contact, the attacking Pokémon loses 1/8 of its own maximum HP.
If a Pokémon with this Ability is hit by a multi-strike move that makes contact (such as Fury Swipes), each hit will activate this Ability. If Rough Skin causes both the Pokémon with this Ability and the attacking Pokémon to faint, then the attacking Pokémon will faint first.
Sand Force (Mega Ability) - During a sandstorm, Sand Force increase the power of Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type moves used by the Pokémon with this Ability by 30%. A Pokémon with this Ability will take no damage from the sandstorm if it otherwise would.

- Earthquake
- Outrage

- Rock Slide
This is my favorite Mega Garchomp set. I have played around with the EVs for hours, and I feel like this is the ideal moveset for my team. Let me start off by explaining the speed EVs. Basically, I wanted to outspeed a Jolly Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian under Tailwind, and I do. Of course, if you don't run Tailwind on your team, you shouldn't run any speed EVs at all, there simply isn't anything to outspeed without removing even more attack EVs. The starting ability should be Rough Skin, just in case you want to switch into an attack, but if you can't get your hands on Rough Skin, it doesn't matter. I honestly haven't utilized the pre mega ability anyways. I chose to run Outrage over Dragon Claw because the damage difference is extreme, and without full investment, Garchomp needs all the damage he can get. Earthquake is a very powerful STAB attack, and every Garchomp should learn it, no questions. Rock Slide is the last move for coverage, I will list other alternatives below. Before we look at calculations, lets all admire how amazing shiny Mega Garchomp looks, I'll wait. Done? Good. Here are some numbers:

Defensive:
Other Options:
- Iron Head - It is a good move to kill fairies, and it is a definite alternative to Rock Slide if you aren't worried about Talonflame or Charizard. However, unless you have Sandstorm, it won't OHKO Sylveon.
- Stone Edge - A stronger, albeit less accurate version of Stone Edge. It can work, but I would the accuracy can be a problem. I wouldn't use it, but you might be braver than me.
- Fire Blast - Are you having trouble with Scizor/Ferrothorn? Well, Fire Blast could be an alternative. Just be aware that it won't OHKO Ferrothorn with the current set.
- Draco Meteor - What are you, a Special Garchomp fan? Get out of here and never come back.
- Iron Tail - Go sit with the people who like special Garchomp. The accuracy is just to bad to risk, I don't recommend it.
- Dragon Claw/Dual Chop - I understand where you are coming from. You can stay in the cool kids corner, away from all those special Garchomp scrubs. I just don't feel like the damage is enough. With the bulk heavy metagame, a physical attacker really needs to at least be getting 2HKOs, and neither of these attacks will do that.
- Swords Dance - You like setup, don't you? I like you, have a cookie. I opted not for setup on this set, but I love SD Garchomp in doubles, especially next to Togekiss/Togetic
Good Teammates:
- Cresselia - DuckHuntSwan here has several things Mega Garchomp likes: Speed control, Helping Hand, and Levitate. If you thought Lando-Cress was a terrifying open, thing about MegaChomp-Cress. I bet you just had a nightmare or <deleted for inappropriate content>.
- Zapdos - Zapdos is crazy bulky, and it can set up Tailwind. Also, it flies, and has a powerful thunderbolt to try and rid the world off annoying water type Pokemon carrying Ice Beam.
- Togekiss/Togetic - Basically, it has tailwind and redirect support.
Things Mega Garchomp Doesn't Like:
- ANYTHING WITH AN ICE TYPE ATTACK WHICH IS LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE POKEMON IN THE METAGAME!
- Faster Dragon Type Pokemon
- Rotom Wash - Not only can it burn Garchomp, but it is a pain in the *** to kill, even with Outrage.
- I am too lazy to write anything else here. You know what Garchomp does and does not like.
