DexNav chaining question.

Hello guys, i have just a quick question. When i shinyhunting by dexnav, am i supposed to faint a pokemon, or can i just run away from him? Thanks for help.

if you faint the pokemon the odds of another one showing up immediately after that one are almost guaranteed, so it is much more useful to just faint them

It doesn't matter because either way the odds are the same. Just note that if you faint the Pokemon, the chain continues faster than if you run away from the encounter
